The Master in Finance at IE Business School is centred around finance and in line with the demand of the recruitment market in the financial arena. Topics covered include macroeconomics, financial accounting, financial entrepreneurship, presentation skills and negotiation. In addition to finance courses, students will be required to undertake level I of the CFA Charter, a highly respected international degree within the finance sector.

It will equip students with the latest knowledge in key areas of finance such as leveraged buy-outs, credit derivatives, mergers, and acquisitions. The program will play a pivotal role in increasing candidate appeal in the recruitment processes for leading financial institutions, such as investment banks, private equity, or asset management. Further areas covered include macroeconomics, financial accounting, financial entrepreneurship, presentation skills and negotiation.

The Master in Finance course will focus on the specialist skills needed in financial markets and will help prepare you for all the challenges that lie ahead in your career.

CFA® Exam
A minimum level of CFA®I will be mandatory for all graduates on the Master in Finance. CFA® certificate has become a basic requirement for individuals who work as investment analysts, portfolio managers, and other investment decision-makers employed by investment firms, banks, broker/dealers, investment companies, insurance companies, and other agencies.

- GMAT (average: 680), GRE, or IE Admissions Test

- Certificate of proficiency in the English language (where applicable), e.g.: TOEFL (minimum: 250)

Application Process
1. Application Form
This form provides the Admissions Committee with fundamental information when it comes to evaluating your application. It is therefore essential that detailed information is provided on relevant academic and professional achievements, together with aspirations, motivations and concerns that could play a role in your admission.

2. GMAT or IE Admissions Test
We require a valid GMAT or IE Admissions Test score.

3. Interview
Having evaluated the application form and additional documentation, the Admissions Committee may invite you to attend an interview.
The interview has a dual purpose: first, to examine in greater detail the data provided in the application on academic and professional background and motivation and second, to ascertain that your profile will stand you in good stead for the structure and demands of the program.

4. The Admissions Committee’s Decision
Following the interview, your application will be subject to a final analysis by the Admissions Committee. The Admissions Committee will evaluate all aspects of your candidature as a whole and will subsequently communicate its decision in writing to you.
